Still at it. June 7th 2011

This is the same yarn that I did the tote bag from and wondered how well it would work up for a dish towels. Not so good. A little thin and not much body. I will use it for myself. I will put up with almost anything.
I found some Lion brand cotton yarn at my local Fred Meyer's store and with the shelf coupon I got it for $3.99 a ball. 5 oz. 236 yds. worsted weight. I made up this design that I have named stone and rail. I need to make a towel to go with. Has nice body and I did wash it to see if it would shrink and it did not. I did not put it in a dryer so do not know if that would cause it to shrink.
This pattern is basket weave
This is a WIP (work in progress) This is the start of the basket weave dish towel. I am half way done so it dose not take long to do. When completed it will be 11" X 17". That is a standard size for dish towels.
I am still working on socks. Will post a picture of the latest pair when they are off the needles. Also finely bought myself new hand carders so can get back to carding the cinnamon Alpaca so I can use it. My old hand carders went belly up (after 35 yrs. of use) as the wires were bent all witch way and the fiber could not be combed.  So there we are for this day. Well not really as I am still doing the ATC class as well as Art Journaling class and have been prepping some water color paper to make a mini book with for the next class. So now there I am done for this time.
